Lürssen

German engineering, pioneering innovation and 150 years of heritage, creating some of the world’s most extraordinary custom superyachts.

Lürssen

Founded by Friedrich Lürssen in 1875, Lürssen is a family-run German shipbuilder with a remarkable history of innovation. From building the world’s first motorboat in 1886 to creating some of today’s largest and most technically ambitious superyachts, the shipyard has continually pushed the boundaries of yacht design and engineering.

Every Lürssen yacht is bespoke, designed and engineered around the individual owner rather than a predefined model. Working alongside leading designers, naval architects and its own specialist teams, the shipyard combines advanced German engineering with exceptional craftsmanship to realise highly complex and individual projects.

With shipyards across northern Germany and the capability to build yachts exceeding 100 metres, Lürssen is particularly renowned for large custom superyachts and megayachts. Its portfolio includes some of the most recognisable yachts ever built, including Azzam, Octopus, Kismet and Rising Sun.
