Over 240 years of British yachting heritage, with a legacy of craftsmanship, innovation and some of the world’s most celebrated yachts.
Camper & Nicholsons traces its origins to 1782, when its original shipyard was established in Gosport, England. Over the following two centuries, the name became deeply woven into the history of British yacht building, producing both sailing and motor yachts and establishing a reputation for craftsmanship, design and technical innovation.
Its remarkable portfolio includes some of yachting’s most significant vessels, from the 63-metre sailing yacht Creole to legendary J-Class yachts Shamrock V and Endeavour. The yard was also responsible for Gipsy Moth IV, aboard which Sir Francis Chichester completed his record-breaking solo circumnavigation.
While Camper & Nicholsons no longer operates as a yacht-building shipyard, the name continues today as a global yachting company specialising in sales, charter, management, design and new-build advisory. Its historic yachts remain an important part of the brand’s legacy and of yacht-building history itself.
